  • Day 2 Liscannor to Doolin

    11.2 Miles / 18 Km 4-6 Hrs 240 Metres

It is hard not to get excited about this first day of walking the Burren Way.  Following the coastal tracks overlooking Liscannor Bay, the trail leads up to the southern end of the world famous Cliffs of Moher. From here, you have breath-taking views as the cliffs rise vertically more than 200m from the sea. The walk then continues for 10km along the cliffs on one of the most spectacular coastal paths in Europe until you come to the small village of Doolin, renowned for live Irish music.

  • Day 3 Fanore to Ballyvaughan

    13 or 16.2 Miles / 21 or 26 Km 5-7 Hrs 250 Metres

Transfer to Fanore in the morning where an ancient ‘Green Road’ brings you to lonely Black Head with splendid views over Galway Bay. The route continues on a narrow trail along cliffs before it joins an old Mass Path, leading into the fertile Gleninagh Valley. After passing the 16th century Newtown Castle you cross through fields and woodland before arriving in Ballyvaughan, your stop for the night.

  • Day 4 Departure from Ballyvaughan

There is a regular bus service from Ballyvaughan to Galway and from there to Dublin, Limerick and Shannon. Full details provided upon booking.
