  • Day 1 Arrival in Killarney

From your point of arrival, use the public transport information we provide to make the journey to Killarney.

  • Day 2 Black Valley - Killarney (incl. Lakes of Killarney boat trip)

    12.5 Miles / 20 Km 5-7 Hrs 420 Metres

A morning boat trip across the famous Lakes of Killarney with one of Kerry’s foremost storytellers sets the scene for a fantastic tour. You are soon deep in the remote Black Valley, from where you will hike back to civilisation – first along the lakes and then on an ancient track through oakwoods, moorland and mountain glens. After a visit to Torc Waterfall you can stop for a break at Muckross House & Gardens – the centrepiece of Killarney National Park.

  • Day 3 Gap of Dunloe - Glencar (via the Black Valley)

    15-17 Miles / 24-27 Km 7-10 Hrs 810 Metres

A long hike that starts with a morning transfer, followed by a hike through the stunning Gap of Dunloe. Later, you are more likely to meet deer and sheep than humans as you pass through some of the most spectacular mountain landscapes that Ireland has to offer. The climbs into the Gap of Dunloe and two sharp ridges into Bridia Valley and Glencar will get your leg muscles working overtime but, as ever, the fantastic views are more than worth it.

Although this walking tour as a whole is classed as 'Moderate', this particular hike is 'Challenging'. Due to the remote nature of the region, there was no easy way for us to make this hike shorter for you. The incredible views will be your reward!
  • Day 4 Glencar - Glenbeigh

    8-11 Miles / 13-18 Km 4-7 Hrs 340/410 Metres

Today’s easy hike starts with a walk along an old ‘boreen’ before you follow the banks of the Caragh River. Tracks and rough paths lead you through the enchanting Lickeen Forest. Follow a quiet country road through the Caragh river valley before a track junction allows you to choose one of two routes around Seefin Mountain. Don’t worry, they’re both beautiful and suddenly open up surprising views of Dingle Bay and the sea!

  • Day 5 Departure from Glenbeigh
