Day 1 Arrival in Callander

Day 2 Callander to Strathyre
9.3 Miles / 15 Km 4-5 Hrs 390 ft / 120 MetresLeave the town today via a charming cycle path, formerly the Callander and Oban Railway line and pass the site of a Roman Fort. Then, follow the meandering Garbh Uisge and spot birds and wildlife along its banks, before meeting the majestic Loch Lubnaig in the shadow of Ben Ledi. Stop in for refreshment at the idyllic Forest Holidays Cafe, before enjoying lochside views almost all the way to Strathyre.

Day 3 Strathyre to Lochearnhead
6.8 Miles / 11 Km 3-4 Hrs 820 ft / 250 MetresA gradual climb for 2km through woodland, out of Strathyre. Then, a gentle descent through forestry to Kingshouse. Here, you can recharge at the funky Mhor 84, while you decide whether to visit Rob Roy’s grave in Balquhidder (a detour of 6km). Then, back on the cycle path, all the way to the shores of Loch Earn.

Day 4 Lochearnhead to Killin
7.5 Miles / 12 Km 3-4 Hrs 820 ft / 250 MetresA steady climb out of Lochearnhead eventually levels out and follows a very scenic route, on the NCN7 cycle path, through the valley and across the impressive Glen Ogle Viaduct. Then, the cycle path follows alongside the road for a time, before turning away from it, into the tranquil Acharn Forest. Finally, you emerge at the famous Falls of Acharn in Killin.

Day 5 Killin to Ardeonaig
9.3 Miles / 15 Km 4-6 Hrs 1670 ft / 510 MetresLeave the bustling Killin and Falls of Dochart behind and begin climbing up into the highlands. You are soon rewarded with expansive and impressive views of the highest peaks in the region. Then, you pass the imposing Breaclaich Dam and reach the highest point on the RRW at 560m, just below Ceann Creagach, with more breathtaking views of several valleys and far-off mountains. A long descent on tracks and across open moorland, leads all the way to Ardeonaig.

Day 6 Acharn to Aberfeldy
9.9 Miles / 16 Km 4-6 Hrs 1180 ft / 360 MetresLeaving the banks of Loch Tay, you head straight onto the scenic Queen’s Drive. Climb along the beautiful Falls of Acharn and past the mysterious Hermit’s Cave. Then follow the trail across rolling fields and hillsides, a romantic landscape that inspired writer, William Wordsworth. Views across this vast landscape accompany you throughout the hike, until you reach the awe-inspiring cascades at The Falls of Moness. Follow the gorge and river through the majestic ‘Birks’ or birch trees, made famous by Scotland’s national poet, Robert Burns. You finish in the quirky and cultured town of Aberfeldy, home to one of the most renowned whisky distilleries in the world, Dewar’s Aberfeldy Distillery, where a tour and tasting is a must!

Day 7 Departure from Aberfeldy
There are regular bus services from Aberfeldy to Pitlochry. From Pitlochry, there are regular connections to Edinburgh and onwards to Glasgow. Full details provided upon booking.
