Ellen O’Keeffe Hillwalk Tours

Ellen is from County Meath, which proudly boasts itself the heritage capital of Ireland. Her love of travel and adventure took her to many places before landing in Thailand where she spent 4 years teaching English, learning the Thai language and exploring the beautiful landscapes. Being adventurous, she tried her hand at scuba diving, bungee jumping and fly- boarding, but her true passion is hiking, on and off the beaten track.

Ready to return to her homeland, Ellen wanted to help people explore the countryside and get back in touch with nature in a sustainable way. As Route Experience Manager at Hillwalk Tours she can do this and pursue her passion for helping people! In her role, Ellen looks after building strong relationships with our suppliers across our trails, along with creating easy to use trail material for our customers, and undergoing trail improvements, enhancements and trail walks to ensure we provide the best possible experience for customers when they are on the trails.

Outside of work, Ellen continues to seek adventure outdoors but when the weather doesn’t permit, you can find her practicing pyrography, drawing, reading or having the craic at a live music pub here in Galway.
