Miriam is from the Canary Islands originally. Her passion for languages, literature and history led her to study Modern Languages at university. This degree gave her the opportunity to spend a semester studying in Ireland as part of her Erasmus experience where she was able to immerse herself in the Irish culture. She immediately fell in love with Ireland´s landscapes, its people and yes, even its weather! No, you are not the first (or the last) person to wonder why she exchanged sunny Gran Canaria for rainy Ireland, but she would not change it for anything!
Miriam joined Hillwalk Tours because it offers her the possibility to use her multiple languages, learn new skills and be part of a passionate and enthusiastic team that works hard towards creating wonderful and sustainable experiences. In her role as Customer Experience Specialist with Spanish, Miriam actively engages with customers and suppliers in order to plan unforgettable hiking holidays for people all around the world. She likes helping customers to choose the best things to do and see in their next adventure with Hillwalk Tours itineraries, and going the extra mile to make sure they have a great time.
Outside of work, Miriam enjoys reading a good book with a cosy blanket and a warm cup of tea, cooking and baking delicious vegetarian meals and cakes, doing yoga and exploring Ireland. Although she is really a homebody, she loves going for walks, trying new cafes and restaurants, and sometimes having a cheeky pint in a pub around Galway!
