Nóirín grew up in Galway on the west coast of Ireland, beside the sea and returned here after studying in Cork and Cologne. Nóirín comes from a long line of Scouts so her interest in the great outdoors stems from a young age. One of her most vivid early memories involves camping in Sweden and Denmark as a child and swimming in the sea in the middle of the night under the midnight sun. Nóirín has been involved in the tourism industry and in bringing people to Ireland for a number of years. With this experience and an interest in sustainable, green industries in Ireland, joining Hillwalk Tours in 2012 was a natural progression for her.
As our Head of Customer Experience, Noirin leads a diverse and multicultural team of organisational wizards, logistics ninjas and service fanatics who strive to ensure our customers receive the highest levels of care and advice in relation to our tours, bookings and all incoming queries – basically all those friendly, helpful people you speak to when you phone the office or communicate with via email. She also spends time planning for her team’s future, ensuring it is properly resourced to meet the demands of our growing customer base and new regions. Noirin’s overall goal is to continue to create experiences that make people happy, whether that be for her team members, customers or suppliers.
Now in her spare time Nóirín enjoys yoga and jogging and reading a good book in front of the fire. She also enjoys swimming in the Atlantic sea and kayaking on the River Corrib. Noirin loves travelling and likes nothing more than combining a hiking holiday with the beach!
