Day 2 Nossa Senhora da Rocha - Benagil (Seven Hanging Valleys Trail)
4 Miles / 6.25 Km 2-3 Hrs 590ft / 180 MetresThis coastal walk is a breathtaking journey along dramatic cliffs and turquoise seas. After a transfer, the route offers stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean, natural arches, and sea caves, including Praia da Marinha, often regarded as one of the most beautiful beaches in Europe, and the top of the famous Benagil Cave. Along the way, you’ll encounter unique rock formations, hidden coves, and lush vegetation. Part of this trail includes some more rugged terrain, but the incredible scenery makes it well worth the effort. It’s a perfect adventure for nature lovers and photography enthusiasts alike! Day 3 Benagil - Carvoeiro
4 Miles / 6.5 Km 2-3 Hrs 590ft / 180 MetresAfter a short transfer, this stunning walk starts with a section of the spectacular Seven Hanging Valleys Trail, offering breathtaking views of limestone cliffs, sinkholes and sea arches, always accompanied by the glorious ocean on your left. This stretch of the coast is dotted with hidden coves, beaches and panoramic viewpoints, making it a rewarding experience for walkers. Near Carvoeiro, you’ll encounter the impressive Algar Seco, a unique site featuring caves, grottoes, and natural pools carved by the sea over millennia.

Day 4 Carvoeiro - Ferragudo
6 Miles / 9.5 Km 3-4 Hrs 980ft / 300 MetresThis beautiful and more remote hike follows the Trail of the Headlands (Caminho dos Promontórios) along cliffs and beaches with stunning coastal views of cliffs. The spectacular route takes you along rugged limestone cliffs, offering breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean, secluded beaches, and dramatic sea caves. Along the way, you pass a 16th-century watchtower once used to guard against pirate raids, a lighthouse and a historic river fortification. For the last few kilometres, the route turns inland and follows the wide mouth of the Arade River to the fishing village of Ferragudo, with its charming whitewashed houses and vibrant riverside cafés. From there, you are transferred to your accommodation. Less crowded than the famous Seven Hanging Valleys Trail, this well-marked trail is ideal for nature lovers.

Day 5 Alvor - Portimão
5.5 Miles / 8.5 Km 3-4 Hrs 430ft / 130 MetresA lovely day along the coast offering stunning ocean views, golden cliffs and picturesque beaches, with plenty of opportunity to enjoy a coffee and a traditional ‘pastel de nata’. Starting at the Alvor Estuary, after a short transfer, you follow boardwalks alongside a lagoon and some beautiful beaches. Then, admire dramatic rock formations and secluded coves before you reach the small villages of Vau and Castelos. Eventually, you drop down onto the bustling beach at Praia da Rocha, which is bursting with activity. Enjoy the beach atmosphere from one of the many cafes and restaurants as you stroll along the boardwalk. Finally, climb up from the beach and into Portimão, finishing with incredible views from the Santa Catarina fort.

Day 6 Depart Portimão
There are frequent bus connections from Portimão to Faro Airport. Alternatively, it is possible to get a taxi transfer from Portimão direct to Faro Airport. Please consult with your host or the reception staff at your accommodation for further information for onward travel.
