Milngavie
Milngavie is at the beginning of the West Highland Way, meaning these restaurants will fill your belly before your first full day of hiking.
Garvie & Co. – A former 18th century coaching inn, Garvie and Co. has a very friendly atmosphere and a freshly prepared menu to ensure you get a good feed before your hike.
Andiamo – An Italian bar/restaurant which offers casual dining and drinks. It has an atmosphere of a traditional brasserie, bringing an authentic feel of Italy to its customers. It serves a fantastic mix of classic and modern Italian dishes.
Tickled Trout Pub – The Tickled Trout is a traditional country pub which has typical rustic charm. A hearty feast awaits you by the fireside, ready to be washed down by the perfect ale.
Drymen
Ptarmigen Bar, The Winnock Hotel – Upon recommendation by numerous walkers, we’re sure the the Ptarmigen Bar in the Winnow Hotel is a great place to unwind after a day of hiking.
The Clachan Inn – Fancy spending the evening in the oldest registered pub in in Scotland? Look no further than The Clachan Inn which was registered in 1734.
The Drymen Inn – Regular live music, home-made meals and refreshing drinks. The Drymen Inn has everything that you need to relax following your first day on the West Highland Way.
Rowardennan
Rowardennan Hotel – The best locally produced food is served in both of the Rowardennan’s Hotel bars, the Rob Roy and the Clansman. In the brighter summer months, food can be eaten outside in the beer garden, offering fantastic views of Loch Lomond.
Tarbet
The Village Inn – The Village Inn was originally built in 1872 as a church manse – housing for the church’s minister. It has a large beer garden which sits in its own large grounds. Except traditional Scottish food and delectable seafood from this restaurant.
Ben Arthur Bothy – Ben Arthur Bothy has a fantastic beer garden which offers views of the nearby loch.
Slanj Restaurant – Slanj restaurant is in the centre of Tarbet, set in a beautiful old building. There is occasionally live music, so you might get lucky when you get there!
Bay Tarbet Hotel– From the banks of Loch Lomond, The Tarbet Hotel overlooks the Loch itself as well as the accompanying mountain, Ben Lomond.
Inverarnan
Beinglas Farm – Beinglas Farm offers a welcome rest to walkers along the West Highland Way. With its extensive menu and daily specials, the beer garden is the perfect place to unwind and relax after a day of hiking.
The Drovers’ Inn – Cattle drovers used this inn over three centuries ago as a place to rest and get food. Today, West Highland Way walkers do the exact same thing. It is a down-to-earth, typical pub which serves hearty food. The famous Scottish outlaw and cattle drover, Rob Roy MacGregor, was a regular here.
Crianlarich
The Crianlarich Hotel – The bar in the Crianlarich Hotel has won multiple awards, as well as holding an AA Rosette for their top-notch dining experiences.
The Rod and Reel – This family-run bar is the perfect place to relax following a day of hiking on the West Highland Way. It is popular with walkers and anglers alike, offering home-cooked meals and drinks all day.
Tyndrum
The Real Food Café – The Real Food Café is a very sustainably-conscious restaurant, offering responsibly sourced fish. There is also in-house baking, meaning all of their baked goods are fresh. One of our top recommendations!
The Green Welly Shop – All of the Green Welly Shop’s cooking is produced onsite. They are particularly famous for their soups, of which you have five to choose from.
Bridge of Orchy
Bridge of Orchy Hotel – The Bridge of Orchy hotel offers the best Scottish contemporary food at reasonable prices. Food is available all day throughout the year.
Inveroran
Inveroran Hotel – The small dining room in the Inveroran Hotel offers several varieties of traditional meals. These are perfect to refuel after your hike on the West Highland Way.
Glencoe
The Glencoe Inn – Food is served throughout the day with fantastic views over Loch Leven. The restaurant offers the best of locally-sourced fresh seafood.
King’s House Hotel – The King’s House Hotel is built on the site of an old Royal Hunting Lodge which was used by King James VI. The history of this location dates back to 1590, so you can choose from a varied menu in a historical setting.
Kinlochleven
MacDonald Hotel – Using the finest and freshets produce, the MacDonald hotel holds over 40 Rosette awards. the chefs prepare and plan their menu based on the season to ensure everything is fresh and gets used up.
Highland Getaway Inn – The Highland Getaway Inn is the perfect location to unwind after your hike on the West Highland Way, offering a relaxed and informal dining atmosphere.
Fort William
The Grog and Gruel – The Grog and Gruel is a traditional restaurant and alehouse with a friendly and warm atmosphere. The bar and menu like to be a little ‘different’ from traditional restaurants.
